In Honor of Robert (Bob) Budlove
Saturday, September 23, 2023
Dogwood Trace Golf Course, Petersburg, VA

Proceeds from the tournament benefit a golf scholarship to support a member of the PHS Golf Team in honor of Coach Robert "Bob" Budlove. Additional support also benefits the PHS Athletic Department.

Robert 'Bob' Budlove

Coach 'Bob' Budlove started his teaching and coaching career at Petersburg High School in 1956 and was involved with the baseball, basketball, football and golf programs. He also was instrumental in the construction of the first driving range in the area for students to learn realistic driving scenarios. He is a dedicated member of the community and his church. Bob was involved in the creation and served as the tournament chairman of the Lee Park Invitational Golf Tournament for 31 years.

Coach Budlove was the Petersburg Crimson Wave golf coach for approximately 30 years. He was dedicated to promoting the game and was able to lead the golf team to two Central District Championships. Bob's love of the game and his passion for coaching offered him a rewarding career while instilling fundamental characteristics of fairness and hard work. He provided encouragement to his students and was instrumental in shaping many to become successful leaders.

The Coach Budlove Scholarship Golf Tournament serves two purposes. The first is to honor a graduating senior from PHS golf team with a $1,000.00 scholarship for college. The second is to provide financial assistance to the Athletic Department of PHS. We appreciate the support you have given us in the past and look forward to your continuing support for both of the worthy purposes.

The Petersburg High School Scholarship Golf Tournament  honors Coach Budlove and his efforts by raising funds for qualifying golfing students from Petersburg High School.
